Go Time

The long training miles are over. This Saturday Czar and I will saddle up for our 4th Lumberjack 100. We have had some mixed results in this race but the plan for 2009 is a little different. We are going to pace off of each other and have some fun. Hopefully we are both feeling good in the end and can turn it up on the last 25 miles.

The bike is dialed, and the nutrition plan has been refined (I hope).

After Lumberjack it is back to some shorter, fun races including two and 4 man team events. I am looking forward to it.

Hanson Hills was a blast!

A very enjoyable 21 mile, first time race today at Hanson Hills.

Brian despite being sick all week came out and left it on the trails with a very respectable performance depsite the odds.

I was within 3 minutes of my goal so a slightly disappointing finish knowing I came close, but not one to totally cry about. I think I got my average speed up to 6.8 MPH now, up from 6.1 last year. Ha!

Looking forward to next years race and perhaps a team event out there in 2009. Thanks to Tom and Kentwood Cycle & Fitness for puting the last minute race tune to the bikes.

MISSING- 10 lbs of chub due to excessive riding...

Man, what a great feeling to ride Egypt Valley with my homies in prep for a throwup session Sunday at Hanson Hills. 2.5 laps at a solid clip yesterday helped to ready my psychie for the 20 miles of singletrack this weekend. If I can get through Sunday with no throwing up or blowing up, I am a changed man. Lots of miles logged and good times thus far. I think I may get a hair cut to help shave some weight and make me light on the bike! Eye of the Tiger baby!
