The best line of the day was Steve Insley's, "I was wondering when you girls were going to catch me" as we met at the 5 1/2 hour mark of the 6 hour event. As I rode past him, I knew it would be the only time I was able to gap him....ever. So I enjoyed it.
For the 2nd year running, Brian and I participated in the 2-man, 6 hour event while Steve hit the track solo; both of us placing 2nd. Brian and I put 2 laps on the 3rd place team for a total of 15 loops and were beat out for 1st place by less than 5 minutes. Steve survived the heat and took it to a rather large list of racers in the bracket to earn his podium placement.
